Yesterday, Paramount+ released the first look at Captain Kathryn Janeway in the upcoming animated series Star Trek: Prodigy. Kate Mulgrew reprises her iconic role from Star Trek: Voyager, as Janeway.
Executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman revealed that Janeway will serve as the Star Trek: Prodigy starship’s built in emergency training hologram. The series will take place in the year 2383, after the events of Voyager, and in the Delta Quadrant.
Star Trek: Prodigy is developed and produced by Nickelodeon and CBS Studios and will premiere on Paramount+ later this year. Unlike Star Trek: Lower Decks, this series is aimed at younger audiences and will follow a crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together and navigate a greater galaxy. Six young outcasts, who know nothing about the ship they have commandeered, will be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents over the course of their adventures together.
