Star Wars Celebration gives us our first look at Andor

Star Wars Celebration is here at last, on the eve of the debut of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. We have been given a look at the upcoming K2SO Show, also called Andor. Unfortunately we already know the K2SO show has a lack of K2SO, as in he’s not in it at all, but that doesn’t stop me from calling it that!

Diego Luna who plays Cassian Andor in 2016‘s Rogue One returns as the rebel scoundrel to explore the years before he meets Jynn Erso. Luna will also serve as the shows executive producer. Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Forest Whitaker, and Genevieve O’Reilly also star in the project.  Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy will serve as the shows creator and showrunner.

The first season of Andor is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on August 31, 2022 and will consist of 12 episodes. The season will be set five years before the events of Rogue One, and further explain how and why Cassian joined the rebellion as the Empire expands across the galaxy. Forest Whitaker is reprising his role from Rogue One as Clone Wars veteran and radical insurgent Saw Gerrera, while O’Reilly is returning as Mon Mothma, one of the founders of the Rebel Alliance. A second season also consisting of 12 episodes is in development with close the gap between the start of the series and Rogue One

Check out the trailer that is packed with some awesome images, that you can also see below, as well as some dark and telling tones.

As someone who has not been excited for this series, I will say this trailer has got my on board. I never really understood the idea for a series about Cassian Andor, I didn’t even like him in Rogue One. Luna does a great job as the character, however, the character was just unlikable to me. But even I have to admit, they have done a fantastic job at getting me hyped for the show. How about you? Are you excited for Andor? Answer the call in the comments below!
