More Transformers On The Way

The Paramount investors meeting is giving us more and more information. I am a different breed of fan. I am one of the very few people who seem to truly love the Michael Bay Transformers franchise. Yes I will concede The Last Knight and Age of Extinction are not good films. But I love the first film. The second has it’s issues, but is still fun. And I contend that Dark of the Moon should have been split into two films. End part one with Decepticons take over Chicago, and make part 2 a full on war. And how could anyone not love Bumblebee!? We know that Rise of The Beast is on it’s way, and it will be the first, of a new Trilogy.

But that is not all. Paramount announced that all their films will be now be housed on Paramount+ after their theatrical run. Rise of the Beasts is the next installment and will be the first Film to make its official streaming debut on Paramount+ after it’s theatrical release.

It was only a matter of time before the announcement of Paramount housing all their IPs on their own streaming service, but news that Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts will be the first of a new trilogy is definitely new! Despite what anyone says about them, the Transformer films is one of the most profitable franchises in film. So it makes sense that we will continue to see these films hit theaters.

Rise of the Beasts will be the first Transformer film to introduce the Beast War characters into the films. The Maximals and Terrorcons will make their debut. As the second film in the franchise without Bay behind the directors chair, we will see Steven Caple Jr. The film stars Anthony RamosDominique Fishback, and Luna Lauren Vélez, as well as Peter Cullen returning to voice Optimus Prime, in 1994 Brooklyn. Ron Pearlman joins the project as Optimus Primes counter part, Optimus Primal, who in the original series was a Transformer who transformed into a Gorilla.

However, that is not all the news we got on Transformers. Looks like Paramount is all in on Robots in disguise as they will be launching a new CG Animated series on Nickelodeon, as well as a planned CG Animated Movie. The new series will be called Transformers: Earthspark that is coming out this fall. It is being co-produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Hasbro’s Entertainment One and will center in on a new species of Transformers trying to find their place in the world.

Josh Cooley, who is known for his work on the fantastic Pixar films, will direct the new animated film with Paramount Animation and eOne, Hasbro’s entertainment studio, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 19, 2024.
