It’s time for the top 5! Those films I am most excited to see and watch! You ready? Let’s get down to it!
5 – 5CREAM

No it’s not spelled like that. All though they should have done that! Perfect marketing! I mean they did it with SCRE4M! Why not 5CREAM? Either way, I am super excited! Scream has been one of my favorite horror franchises. I watch it ever single year around Halloween. I remember my sister making the family watch it when I was in 8th grade. The opening scene scared the shit outta me! And I have enjoyed every sequel since. Some more then others obviously.
This go around, doesn’t seem to be reinventing anything. Officially the synopsis goes twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, Calif., a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Ok so it sounds like all the others! But that’s what make these special. Well that and the stellar cast of David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Marley Shelton, and Roger L. Jackson as the voice of Ghostface. Plus newcomers Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid. It is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and being produced by original screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who I got to Interview once, great guy. 5CREAM hits theaters next friday on January 14.
4 – Wakanda Forever

Black Panther was a huge success. To this date one of my favorite MCU films. Next to Thanos, Killmonger was the most relatable and fleshed out villain the MCU has given us. The story between the two was dynamic and fun to watch. It was filled with excitement and oscar worthy performances. With Boseman’s untimely death, the future of Black Panther was definitely up in the air. Personally I was on team of recasting, but only if they did it with JD Washington. No one else is acceptable.
Wakanda Forever is still a mystery. Who takes control of Wakanda, who becomes the new Black Panther? Personally I am rooting for M’Baku. Winston Duke was a shining light in the first film, and a charismatic lead, who could carry a film by himself, honestly, he could carry an MCU Blockbuster by himself. But if I was a betting man, I’d put my money on Nakia. I know a lot of you are thinking Shuri takes on the roll, but to me, she’s the tech, Nakia is the warrior. Once again directed by Ryan Coogler, who co-wrote the screenplay, and stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Dominique Thorne. It will hit theaters on November 22.
3 – The Flash

The Flash is a project that has been plagued by delay after delay. Much like Top Gun Maverick. The difference is that The Flash hadn’t been filmed yet. The delays came from new writers, directors, changes in ideas all together. At one point this movie was actually supposed to be a Flash and Cyborg film! Now we are getting a version of the Flashpoint!
The film is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash alongside Ron Livingston, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle, and Ben Affleck. In The Flash, Allen travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder which brings unintended consequences. The film is set to hit theaters on November 4th!
2 – Black Adam
It’s the Fuckin Rock. As a superhero. Or Villain. Who cares. It’s the Rock!

And now, for the number one film, the one I am most excited for….
1 – Thor: Love & Thunder

Thor is an incredible franchise. For a long time the first film was my favorite in the MCU. And unlike most people, I actually really enjoy Thor 2:The Dark World. No not because of the Elves, nor the story, but for the interaction between Thor and Loki. These two together are great. The chemistry is some of the best in the MCU. Thor Ragnarok reinvented the character, for the better. I love Taika’s take on this character and this world.
Directed once again by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love & Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, alongside Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel. Love & Thunder will be inspired by the Mighty Thor comics of star Marvel writer Jason Aaron. In that comic, Thor loses the ability to lift Mjolnir, and Jane Foster takes on the mantle of God of Thunder, while simultaneously battling cancer in her human hours. How this will play out is unknown currently, but it is exciting to see. It hits theaters on July 8th.
Well there we have it, my top 10 films of the year. Hopefully these all hit this year. Last time I did a most anticipated films list, 3 or four movies ended up not coming out that year……
I know, Doctor Strange is not on the list. Crazy right? There’s an explanation, and if you all really want, I’m sure I can put something out. But what do you think about my top 10? Are you excited for these? What else are you excited to see in 2022? Answer the call in the comments below!
