With the honorable mentions out of the way it is time to crack into my most anticipated films. We will begin with number 10, obviously.
10 – Jurassic World: Dominion

The 6th installment to Jurassic Park, or 3rd Jurassic World, however you want to look at it, kicks off the list. While I found Jurassic World to be a fun film, and Fallen Kingdom to be a mess, I am still very excited about this. Fallen Kingdom had a lot of potential with an amazing opening and first act. But fell apart in the end. What has me excited though is to finally see a world where the Dinosaurs are running free!
Jurassic World: Dominion is directed by Colin Trevorrow, who wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael, based on a story by Trevorrow. The film stars an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, and BD Wong reprising their roles from previous films in the franchise, and they are joined by Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Campbell Scott, and DeWanda Wise.
9 – Creed III

A lot like Jurassic World, I loved the first Creed, and only parts of Creed 2. Which is why this film has dropped to number 9 on the list. But that doesn’t keep it off the list. You can’t help but get excited to see Michael B. Jordan return as “Baby Creed”! The loss of Sly Stallone hurts my excitement a little, but I can not wait to see what Jordan does in the directors chair.
Not much is known about Creed III other then Michael B Jordan returning as Adonis Creed, as well as directing. Tessa Thompson will be back, and the film has added Jonathan Majors to the cast. It will hit theaters on November 23, 2022.
8 – Top Gun: Maverick

I feel the need, the need, for speed! Maverick is back! And hopefully we will get to see him fly once again this year! The long awaited sequel to Top Gun has been pushed back multiple times, but it is finally going to hit theaters this year, allegedly. Originally scheduled for July 12, 2019, it first moved to June 26, 2020. Then it moved to December 23 due to the ongoing COVID-19. It was then pushed to July 2, 2021, then once again to November 19, 2021. Finally, Paramount announced that Top Gun: Maverick will be released May 27, 2022 and will be streamed on Paramount+ 45 days after its theatrical release.
Top Gun: Maverick is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer.
7 – The Batman

The Batman? Nah more like The Penguin! Collin Farrell as the true to form mobster Oswald Cobblepot! This is an incredible choice and made me super excited about this new look at Batman. A lot of us are worried about Battinson, but as someone who has never seen Twilight, and only seen him in Tenet, I feel pretty confident in this film. However, If I have to see the Waynes die, again, I promise I will walk out of my screening and not finish the film until it is streaming online.
The Batman directed by Matt Reeves, who also wrote the screenplay. It stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman alongside ZoĆ« Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. Set in his second year of fighting crime, the film sees Batman uncover corruption in Gotham City while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham’s elite.
6 – Across The Spider-Verse: Part 1

Into The SpiderVerse was an awesome new look at Spider-Man. Miles Morales might be one of the fastest growing superhero’s ever created. Getting to see him on the big screen was an epic moment, plus the film is just filled with heart. It is fun, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. A sequel was needed the day after it was released! And finally we are getting one.
Across The Spider-Verse is the first of a two-part sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and is set in a shared multiverse. The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. Shameik Moore voices Morales, starring alongside Oscar Isaac and Hailee Steinfeld.
