Of the big three, The God of Thunder is the first to get a fourth film. Love & Thunder is set to release next February, and the crew has been hard at work getting ready for their release date. Now thanks to a post on Chris Hemsworth’s Instagram (and a follow up post from director Taika Waititi) we know that the film has wrapped.
We also now know that Thor is looking JACKED! Big change from the last time we saw him leaving on an adventure with Guardians of the Galaxy. Guess since Starlord was “in charge” it freed up Thor for a good diet, and exercise. Or maybe it is the lack of fast food in space. Who knows? But what we know is, like Darcy said, pretty cut.
Thor: Love & Thunder is once again directed by Taika Waititi. It sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, as well as the return of Natalie Portman to the role of Jane Foster. Jane was last seen in Thor: The Dark World. We found out during Ragnarök that Thor was dumped by Jane, for reasons undisclosed. Tessa Thompson returns as Valkyrie, who is now the King of New Asgard. The film will also see a new character in Gorr the God Butcher who will be played by Christian Bale.
Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn all reprise their roles from The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jaimie Alexander and Jeff Goldblum also return as Lady Siff and the Grandmaster. As well, Matt Damon, Sam Neill, and Luke Hemsworth all reprise their roles as Asgardian actors and will be joined by Melissa McCarthy as an actress playing Hela. Ben Falcone has joined thew cast, as has Russell Crowe in a cameo appearance as Zeus, the king of the Olympians.
Thor: Love & Thunder hits theaters on February 11, 2022.
