Superman Reboot on It’s Way

Shadow & Act is reporting that a brand new look at Superman is heading to the big screen with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates to helm the script. J.J. Abrams is onboard to produce the project through his Bad Robot company. No word yet on who will direct or who will play the man of steel, but the script is being penned at the moment.

Coates spoke about the project to Shodow & Act saying:

To be invited into the DC Extended Universe by Warner Bros., DC Films and Bad Robot is an honor, I look forward to meaningfully adding to the legacy of America’s most iconic mythic hero.

Superman hasn’t been the focus of his own film since the polarized Man Of Steel set the DCEU in motion back in 2013. We have been waiting for a true sequel , and though we may not be getting one, JJ Abrams is excited for the new look at the hero.

There is a new, powerful and moving Superman story yet to be told. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the brilliant Mr. Coates to help bring that story to the big screen, and we’re beyond thankful to the team at Warner Bros. for the opportunity

Toby Emmerich, Chairman, Warner Bros. Pictures is optimistic about the project saying

Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the World and Me opened a window and changed the way many of us see the world, We’re confident that his take on Superman will give fans a new and exciting way to see the Man of Steel
